Default Vosonic CF Card reader

Hello friends,

a buddy of mine is selling all of his his gear and he's offered me his Vosonic card reader and image viewer. I don't know anything about these things other than you can transfer your data from your CF card to this device whilst working in the field. Sounds great, but are they any good or worth buying?

Any tips or advice would be most helpful

Cheers,

Jeff

Doh how dumb am I, Castman? I'm not sure what the model is, I'll have to ask and come back to you. Do you have one of these?

OK, the card reader on offer is the Canon M30. It reads and views pics on your CF card and you can view RAW pics, it stores 30Gb but looks very expensive at £330.

By comparison, the Vosonic VP8860 Multimedia Storage Viewer 320GB is far more versatile, you can also store and view RAW images. You can also view movies etc. I think this would be a better buy at £260.
Any comments are most welcome and appreciated.

Cheers,

Jeff

I feel the Vosonic/Wolverine units are better value for money than the Canon.
If you do a lot of travelling/vacations they are great for backup storage.
I have used pairs (duplicated the data) of Vosonic/Wolverine units in the past without any problems at all.
I havn't used the particular model you are looking at however I have used both the one with the screen and the ones without the screen.

If I am not travelling I never use them.
