Default Carrying Bags question

I wanted to ask what carrying bags are you using for carrying around your SLR cameras?

Do you have the camera body at one place in the bag and the lenses at another place? (compartment)

I was trying to find a bag that i can carry my Rebel T1 with the lens attach for more convienence

I have a bag that has velcro on the inside so that you can make the compartments fit whatever size you need. I usually keep one lens on the camera and then have room for an additional lens and my flash unit. It's not an expensive one. It came from Walmart. As my collection of camera accesories increases, I'll upgrade to something else. I usually know what kind of shoot I will be going for, so I pack the bag accordingly. Some people like the backpacks for outside/vacation type shoots. Hope this helps! Kim

I have several bags that are used in different configurations for various events.

Lowepro CompuDayPack
Every day run-around bag that I use to go to class and so on. Has room for my laptop (15" MBP), all the necessary bits for it as well as my camera and a lens (two if I alter the standard configuration) as well as all sorts of other things. The way it's set up for day-to-day use is very limiting camera-wise: its mainly for the laptop.

Lowepro EX140:
A small shoulder/waist bag that I use either for my film camera (Nikon FE, 50mm f/1.8 and film rolls) or as a light bag (3 flashes+batteries).

Lowepro Rezo 180 AW:
My main bag. Holds all my lenses, hoods, flash as well as the body with a grip, memory cards, business cards, etc. It carries everything but a laptop, essentially. When I travel, the camera is in the middle with 3 lenses on one side, one and a flash on the other. It's got the grip attached but a body cap instead of a lens.

I'm looking at getting a few different things: the Lowepro Computrekker Plus AW and a setup for the Lowepro Street and Field system

As you can see, I REALLY like Lowepro. They're made in Canada or the US, come with a lifetime warranty and are super useful.

For carrying a camera body and a couple accesories I like the Tamrac Velocity series. But I usually carry my camera out and use a vest for the additional lenses etc. I use a Pelican 1540 as my storage/transport case. I do have a bag I could carry almost everything in, but loaded it weighs in at 30+#.

If I'm traveling light, say one smallish lens on the camera, and another in the bag, I wrap a Zing around the camera and mounted lens, and use a lens case (that, obviously, can fit both lenses), and just throw them into whatever bag I want to bring—usually a Timbuk2 "Metro" (I think the Click is the current analog). I like this bag because the strap is adjustable messenger-style with a simple tug. I can keep the bag down at my hip for easy access, or snug it up tight against my back if I need both hands and I'm not shooting (and it's also a perfect fit for my netbook if I just need to haul that about). If I have to bring the kitchen sink and tripod or monopod, I use the Canon backpack.

Depends on what & where I am shooting.
The cameras will always have lenses attached.

(1) travelling light with just one body & lens. It will be a small Think Tank Holster holster.

(2) DSLR + P&S (backup) + external flash. It will a Domke F-4AF shoulder bag.

(3) Shooting motor sport where I have to wear a media, or safety vest and I will be doing a lot of walking it will be Think Tank harness system with two holsters, two water bottles, food and possibly some wet weather gear for myself and the cameras.

(4) Overseas vacation where I will be doing a lot of flying it will be a Lowepro fastpack 250

(5) Shooting events, like parades etc, it will be a large Think Tank Belt Pack possibly with water bottles attached if it is a very hot day. Able to carry a dual camera setup safely & securely.

(6) Bush walking etc where I may need to carry a long lens it will be a Think Tank Glass Taxi with water bottles on the belt.

(7) If I am going on a shoot and I do have to take a lot of gear, including backup lenses/flashs & bodies, it will be a Think Tank Airport Antidote
