Looking around these forums, I see that tons of people use Photoshop Lightroom and Photoshop CS4. Being a Mac enthusiast, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Aperture (Apple's photography software). If so, what do you think of it? If not, does it look solid?
Here's a link to its wiki page if anyone who's unfamiliar is interested. Thanks, Shravan

i have both aperture and lightroom, and they are both excellent programs. i've been using lightroom more though because i really like its integration with photoshop, and i have several of the Nik software plugins for lightroom but not aperture. i think that overall lightroom has a bit more versatility with the adjustments, but i've heard plenty of great things about aperture, and essentially the only reason i don;t use it is because i also use photoshop, and moving between lr and ps is super easy

I tried using Aperture back around v 1.5, however, when both Aperture 2 and Lightroom 2 came out, I found myself preferring Lightroom. Aperture did have some beneficial qualities (such as making it really easy to shoot tethered), but I never really liked the overall interface in comparison to Lightroom. I also use the Nik plugins in Lightroom, but I do know that they also work in Aperture (my LR versions also came with Aperture product keys). In any case, even as an Apple enthusiast, I went with the program I was more comfortable with, but I do think that it winds up really being a matter of personal preference for which interface you prefer.

I used Aperture for about a week, then switched to Lightroom and have never gone back.. I found Lightroom to be a lot easier to understand.

I got Lightroom, but never really got a hold on it. Being old, I have a large learning curve. Funny thing, My son gave me Aperture 2 abiut 2 weeks ago and I have been doing fine with it. Nikon is wayyy behind with their software and NX2 will not work with SNow Leopard. For some reason I get along fine with Aperture. I will be getting CS5 when it comes out in April and will be moving up from CS2. A big jump for an old guy-- maybe things will change. I never got LR 2 when it came out.
