Default help with equipment for rainforest trek

Hi all, I'm fairly new to photography but I'm pretty comfortable with my 400D. I'm not up to date on the latest equipment or technical terms so please keep that in mind if you decide to respond

This October I'll be taking a two week excursion into the Peruvian rainforest. I'd like to document the trip as best as possible. I was planning on taking my 400D and 100mm macro but I'm hesitant. Instead I've decided to rent a 7D with extras from borrowlenses for three main reasons. First I'd like something a little more weatherproof that I dont have to babysit as much as my 400, second I really want to be able to capture HD video clips, and finally I'd like to document the flora and fauna with as much detail as possible.

Could you please recommend what I should plan on renting along with the body? lenses/flashes that will be as weatherproof as the body and cover my basic needs?

I really appreciate any help I can get.
