Default Anyone familiar with stop shot?

I got a stop shot unit for christmas. I hooked everything up the way I though it should be. I tested that when my finger crossed the beam, it would light up. But I can get it to trigger my camera. I tried in full auto, manual and bulb modes. Am I missing something simple? I played with the setting on the unit, made sure I had my camera plugged into trigger one. I set the trigger to "trigger mode" and tried various delays.
