Default Cactus V-4 Warning!!

Just a little warning about the Cactus V4 radio flash triggers. I was excited to receive my new triggers just in time for Christmas. Christmas morning pics never seem to come out good, this year would be different. I positioned my speedlight high on top of the entertainment center, aimed toward the middle of the ceiling. Armed with my V4 transmitter mounted atop the Pentax ist DL I fired off dozens of shots of my kiddos tearing into their presents. When I first began to review the shots I was pleased with myself for my fine lighting accomplishment. Then I began to look closer...... It was bad. All of my Christmas morning shots are ruined thanks to some sort of interference causing a band of lines across the top of every picture. Some test shots with and without confirmed it was the trigger.
Here is a test shot I did in a dark room, makes the lines stand out more for you to easily see.......

Thanks for sharing this. I'd be very interested to hear from other 'togs about this interference.

Even though you're not 100% satisfied with them at the moment, please consider posting them on my What did Santa bring you? thread.

I have had the V4s (2 receivers) for about 6 months now they work fine on my Canon 1Ds. Haven't had a problem at all - shooting professionally with them too. They're very good value for the price.

You're not shooting above your maximum sync speed for the flash (usually 250th?) are you? That would give you a banding.

N.B You can get the Cactus V4 triggeres in the UK/Europe here. I found it it very difficult to locate someone who was selling them!
