Talking What lens would you get if you could get ANY lens?

My dad gave me a "coupon" for Christmas saying he would buy me ANY lens I want. Yeah... I was ECSTATIC!!!! to say the least. haha.

I've had my eye on the Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8 for awhile now, but should I consider any other lenses?

You can also consider the 70-200 f/2.8 VR II. The 14-24 f/2.8 may not be the best for the D80.

does he know what lenses can cost?

are you happy with the Tamron 28-75 ???
if you are.. theres no point getting the same focal range.

i'd very seriously consider:

nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII (that would be my frst choice)

or even a 14-24mm f/2.8

for you people stuff... 85mm f/1.4

105mm f/2.8 VR Macro

depends what you shoot and which focal lengths you've been lusting after..

congrats

I have all the lenses I need;
however on my lust list is a Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM Image Stabilizer AutoFocus Super Telephoto Lens with Case & Hood.
Just the thing to extend my birding and motor racing capabilities.

Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95. But I'd need an M9 to go with it.

And that's an $8000 problem right there.

There was a Sigma lens recently discussed on the board that B&H sells (with FREE delivery) for $29,000. Get that one and then sell it and buy every other lens you always want.

I'm in the US, so it's a mere $7k for us. But if I had to choose between the two, I'd prefer the lens, since it's $10k.
