Default help with my nikon 50mm 1.8 glass!!!!!!!

i recently bought a nikon 50mm 1.8 lens(barely used) on craigslist. i know that before you could shoot, you would have to set the aperature ring to f/22 and lock it in. but the thing is, everytime i would shoot it would say fEE!!!! and for the camera to let me shoot i would have to twist the aperature ring a little pass the f/22, and hold it so i could finally shoot! help me please. i dont know if the lens is broken or did i not set up the lens properly..

Doesn't sound good, to be honest. Try to clean the entire area that contacts the camera. Some people use a pencil eraser. Make sure you carefully put the lens on the camera & seat it properly. Make certain that there is no play to it & it is tight & secure. If, at that point you still have problems, I would say you have a bad lens.

Bad contacts. It must have been dropped. Try to put black electrical tape around the ring so it will stay in place. Good luck and all the best.
