Hi,
I am thinking of buying a tele lens in a couple of months. I have a nikon D60. I am think of buying one of these 2: - Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Macro AF-S - Nikon AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6 G ED DX VR What do you think about each of these lenses, and which of the 2 would you buy? I'm open to suggestions of other tele lenses that aren't too expensive compared to these 2. |

Well they are different animals. The Nikon is a kit lens, but it is actually a very good lens for the money. At 200mm it is actually sharper than the Nikon 18-200 at 200mm. The sigma will give you greater reach and you really won't miss the 55-70 range much. That said I think you are better off sticking with the Nikon. If you really need the extra 100mm I would highly suggest the Nikon 70-300VR it is a really great lens. Nice an sharp and light weight. You should be able to find a used one for around $400.
