Okay well you all finally swayed me from the 70-300 APO Sigma and convinced me to drop the coin on a Nikon VR model. I found it on BH and Adorama for $540+free shipping. Then I found it on Cameta Camera for $469. Obviously this is a much better deal, with the lens, a Hoya filter and shipping the total comes to $506, about $50 less than the others with the lens, filter and shipping.
Have you bought from Cameta before? Would you do it again? It says the lens is a genuine USA Nikon lens w/ 5 year warranty so it seems good. Any thoughts? |

Sounds like a goo deal. Personally I buy all my stuff used from people on Craigslist or on some of the photo boards. Have never had a problem with any gear. Just picked up a D90 two days ago from a photographer that used it once and did not like it. Had under 20 pictures taken on it and I got it for less than $500.

Kirbinster, thats awesome. How could someone not LOVE a D90? Oh well, right place at the right time!
Thanks for the link Susan, seems pretty good to me, average 8/10 with 177 positive reviews. It think it seems like a good place to buy from. |

![]() I've never bought anything major from Cameta and I'm always suspicious on places in NJ selling lenses for a bunch less than everyone else, but they seem to be legit. I've gotten some good deals from Amazon (buying from Amazon themselves, not the 3rd party sellers) though. |

I noticed that Cameta also sells a lot through Amazon, thats actually where I heard about them. I thought it might be easier to go straight through them but if there is some security in going through Amazon then maybe thats the route i should take?

I don't think ordering through a 3rd party on Amazon offers any security over ordering directly from them. The only time I've done it is to get one or two small things from Adorama (that Amazon doesn't have) without paying $7 for shipping. Check how much Cameta wants for shipping, Amazon has the lens for ~$510 with free shipping, so the price difference might not be much at all.
