Default The Nissin Di866 for Nikon

Hey there, I found out about this flash today and it looks really nice. I have been able to find only one review and I am wondering what you think about it.

Did/Would you buy it?
Why yes/no?

Greetings, Tod.

PS: Here is the review

Sadly it looks like nobody has it. Or at least nobody is willing to give some info.

Odd that on such a large and impressive forum, no one has an opinion! Maybe no one has one??

Including this post I find 15 posts that mention the Nissin flash.
I do not own one so I can not comment.

There's also a lot of discussion @ flickr regarding this flash.

I am still waiting a bit until I get to see more reviews or feedback as I am planning to get my first flash. SB900 is definitely out of my budget range so it's either this or the SB600. I hope others who have first hand experience with the Nissin Di866 share their comments.

And of those 15 posts there is only one that speaks of the Di866.

Sure I am I'm helping...I am pointing out the fact that of the tens of thousands of posts and the thousands upon thousands of people who post here, there are not too many people singing the praises of this company or of that flash in particular. Therefore spend the money and get one of the Nikon flashes. If the Nissin was stellar, there would be thread upon thread proclaiming it's value. The electronics and communication between the flash and the camera is propritary so any aftermarket, non-eom is working by reverse engineering.
Sounds like you want one- go and buy one, at worse it might be a good secondary flash to the Nikon you buy later...
