Has anyone here used this tripod before? Here is a link to it: Velbon Tripods

It seems reasonably priced ($250 CAD) for a carbon fibre tripod. I do a fair bit of hiking so weight is a concern. Will this be sturdy enough to handle my XSi (or eventually a 7D) with a 70-200mm f/2.8 or f/4 IS?

That's the one I have and I'm really pleased with it. As far as lightweight for hiking ... not sure since that is so subjective. In my view, it's perfectly acceptable to take hiking but you'd have to get a feel for it yourself before purchasing one. It's strong, versatile (for outdoors/indoors), and easily adjustable.
