Question Color FX Pro?

Someone mentioned this to me but I'm not sure exactly what it is or if this is the correct name. Does anyone here know about this? Thanks! And if so where can I find.

It's actually Color Efex Pro. It's a filters plugin by Nik Software. I have it as a plugin for Nikon Capture NX2 but you can also get it for Photoshop, Lightroom, or Aperture.

So does have basically like photoshop actions? I have a friend who is a photographer who has it and I'm curious as to what it can do.

Yes it's like actions, I guess. Don't really know for sure but I believe so. Go to this page & hover your mouse pointer over one of the filters & you'll see an example.

Here's a few examples of what I was able to achieve with it.

It is kind of like Photoshop actions, but with more control over how it is applied since when you use a filter it opens in a new window and lets you select your filter and add reasonably intelligent control points to select where you want the effect (that is, if you don't want the effect everywhere). Definitely have a look at the link Dave provided with the list of filters on it. If you click on the filter name you get a description and a before and after shot.

I'm a huge fan of the Nik Software plugins. I use Color Efex on a fairly regular basis at the very least to try out their contrast filters on each image. But I also use their other plugins as well.

Edit: Also here's a post that I made with a few before and after examples
