Default Your thoughts on the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM?

I am doing some research on the lenses that I want to buy within the next 6-12 months. I was thinking about one of the 50mm f/1.4 lenses but I find 50mm to be a bit too long when shooting indoors. I came across this Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and from the info I have found it looks promising. Has anyone here used this particular lens?

I should add that center sharpness wide open is more important to me than corner to corner sharpness when stopped down.

I have it. It's a love-hate relationship. I love that it's 1.4, I love that it's prime, and I love that the focus is silent. However, my copy is soft as all hell most of the time, and for that reason I tend not to use it if I don't have to.

If you get it I'd get it from a store that'll let you exchange it for another one if you get a soft copy.
