Default Debating on selling a lens need thought help.

Hey guys, I have a Sigma Fisheye 15mm f/2.8 EX DG and it seems to get little use day in and day out. When I do use it I really enjoy it butI would like a lens that is just a wide angel and not a fish eye. After a little research I stumbled upon the Sigma 20mm F1.8 EX DG. I am wondering if anyone has used both of these and what your thoughts are on them. I would like to have a wide that I can use on a day in and out basis, and also be able to use for close quarters and landscape. Would this be a good switch?

-Andy

ps. I am using a APS-C canon XSI

I haven't used either of those lens but I would sell your fish eye if your not using it. You can always rent it online for 30 - 50 bucks a week if you know of a situation where you will need it. I would consider getting the 10-22mm Canon Wide angle or the comparable Tameron and Sigma offerings. You will be much happier with this.

20mm on your crop body I feel will not be wide enough for you.

I'm assuming you already have the 18-55 that most likely came with your camera. Personally, I wouldn't consider a 20mm all that wide being that you have an APS-C camera. If you like it for the f1.8, then that's one thing. But as a wide angle, you'd be better off with like a 10-20.

thanks guys. ill look for a 10-20mm, I really like the 1.8 for low light. I find my self using my 50mm more and more because of it but I dont like having to be 15 feet away to take the shot some times.

The sample shots from the 20/1.8 that I've seen look really funky to me, but some folks love the hell out of it. It's undoubtedly the fastest lens you're going to find in the ultrawide range. The 10-22 is only f/3.5-4.5, and is meant more as a landscape lens. I'd say looking for something like the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 might be a nice compromise between wide/rectilinear and available light fast.
