I am trying to find out what options are available for wireless tethering. I have a Nikon d90 that i use with a Mac and I tether with the standard USB cable. I have seen the Eye-Fi SD card that connects to your wi0fi network, but it's very slow. I have even seen a hack that uses a USB dongle as a wireless transmitter. That one would be perfect but it only works on PCs though.
Has anyone used a wireless USB adapter successfully? I'm trying to do this under $150 max. All ideas are very welcome. Thanks |

Nowhere near your price range, but the obvious solution is the one from Nikon:
Nikon Wireless Transmitter

I guess the best way to explain the difference between what the OnOne remote can do and what I'd say "traditional" wireless tethering can do is this: With the onOne, it's best if you want your camera to remain stationary and you want to move your subject around and see what your camera sees (if you have live view). What I'd "expect" of wireless tethering is the ability to move the camera around while the subject stays in place, but essentially just that I don't have to be connected to my computer with any cables.

Thanks Mipo,
That looks like a very interesting App. I may get that. It looks like it would be great for placing the camera in a difficult position. I could get some cool angles with that. However, it doesn't transfer the images from the camera directly to the computer wirelessly, which is what i would like to achieve. |

Try this blog. Apparently, the guy built a wireless tether for $50, according to this Wired article.
