Anyways, big things for me.... screen resolution and accuracy, lots of RAM, pricetag, and in my case, a Blueray drive.

I just purchased the HP HDX16t and I must say it rocks. The screen is absolutely beautiful. It's such a pleasure editing on that rather than my desktop. That, and HP should still be running a $250 off promotion, then with a coupon code (NBWX43492 - $250 off a notebook $1200+) I was able to get a sick machine for $850.

Checkout techdeals.net. They post a lot of coupon codes. Also, all of the PC manufacturers are dumping their current stock for cheap before the Windows 7 release next week. It'd be wise to take advantage if you have the means and are in the market.

While it may be cliche, I have a mac because it's wonderful. Yes, you can get some great windows machines, but its still windows.

The difference going from my old Windows generic laptop to my MBP was like night and day. Nevermind the OS and the speed: just the screen was worth it. It made my sharp shots just that much sharper. It's heaven!

I just converted to Mac,and it's so much better than windows.your Budget will determine what you end up with.I bought a 17" mac book pro, changed the monitor to a matt finish especially for my photography, upgraded to 8GB ram to run all my software programmes super quick and smooth all at the same time, also upgraded the processor to 3.06GHZ.Just the monitor alone has helped me out no end with my images as there so much clearer and not over sharpend or over saturated,Love the mac now.

I'm working on a 15" macbook pro and I love it. The battery lasts forever using one of the GPUs, and if I crank up the second GPU the battery still lasts 2-3 hours of heavy browsing and photoshop work. The screen is awesome, as well. Very bright (all the battery times listed were on full brightness) and colors are accurate and vibrant.

Whatever it is, I'm really hating the trend with widescreen monitors that are only 768 pixels tall. That means that all photos taken portrait orientation ends up being so stinkin small when viewed full screen. It's annoying.

smc your computer wireless works so well it transferred the bug to my screen. It is still going around in circles.

Gateway FX gamer machine. Gaming machines have tons of ram and great video and the 17" screen is great for PP.
