Default Desisions, need help

Hey, new to the forum, but who cares.
I decided a few weeks back to save like a trojan for my holiday in florida next august. My projections show i could have around $3500 to spend on whatever, namely gear.

I thought heavily on, but recently decided against buy a Leica M8 and a Voigtlander 35mm 1.4 as i could really use some gear for my primary setup. This setup at the moment includes:
Nikon D90
18-105
MBD80
SB 600
Sigma 70-300
MacBook Pro 2.66 ghz
interfit EX 150 two head kit
Viewsonic vX2255WMB
Couple of bags
Manfrotto 728b tripod
blah blah

Nay way, i was thinking on either purchasing the Nikon 24-70 2.8 G + 14-24 2.8, to really set me up with some serious glass, or a D700 + 24-70 G to really get the most out of FX glass.

Will the FX lenses really be "wasted" on a DX camera? Im only buying FX glass now as i will go full frame in the future, anything else is a waste of time.
Is the D700 a silly choice considering i already have a D90?

Are their any other options im over looking?

My style is very varied, take a look at: Flickr: Ollie Gapper's Photostream

Thanks in advanced people

Ollie

I'd buy a G11 and spend the rest on hookers and blow.

Just keepin' it real.
I enjoyed strolling through your flickr pages. Lots of interesting stuff there. And on a more serious reply, I don't think you will ever go wrong spending money on full frame glass. I would imagine that eventually the cost to produce full frame sensors will come down and they will be more prevelent.

I thought about getting the M9 too but getting back to rangefinder focusing system and a new system of lenses is something I have to think about.

You can substitute the M8 + VC with Panasonic GF-1 & Leica lux or cron/ZM/VC lenses.

Getting the 24-70 & 14-24 is a good decision since you only have to buy once. However, I prefer the D700 + 24-70 combo.

D700 is more than FX because you are getting a capable camera that can handle anything. You only have to refresh it later with a higher MP version.

Since I prefer the portrait lenses more than UWA, I'll add a 200 f/2 VR to my D3 and a Tokina 11-16 to my D300. I'll add the 14-24 before Nikon discontinues it.

The only disadvantage of getting the D700 is that you don't have to ask for advice again regard camera bodies and how to handle a difficult situation.
