Default Macro lens for D60

Hey there everyone, just joined DPS at long last after reading for a good few months.

I am looking for a macro lens on a budget just now. I have a Nikon D60 with kit lens. And I am wanting a macro/portrait lens that isn't hugely expensive.

The D60 obviously doesn't have a built on motor. So for now I am looking for something with a motor in it.

Your best bet is likely the new 85mm f/3.5 DX Micro. It was announced only a few days ago and is, by test numbers, stunning. It's also got a good working distance for both macro and portraits.

The only downside is that it's an f/3.5, so getting that out-of-focus blurring is harder than if it were a f/2.8. That being said, the blur is supposed to be super smooth.

Hmmm, looks a very nice lens. Maybe however I am not after a macro lens. I will be looking more I think for just a blurred background... So would the Nikon 35mm f1.8 do do you think?
