Also, if the converter doesn't have a glass element in it, you won't have focus to infinity. If it does have glass in it, your FoV and max. aperture will be slightly affected, as the adapter is, in effect, acting like a teleconverter so you can achieve infinity focus. Stopdown metering works, though, which is nice. It's ironic, but some of the worst lenses to try and use on the Canon EOS mount are Canon FD/FL lenses. You'll have better luck with old Contax Zeiss, Leica R, Olympus OM, Nikon F, Pentax K, or M42 lenses, since those mounts can use a simple adapter ring and still retain infinity focus. Right now the digital mount that's most happily using FD lenses is micro four-thirds.

Since the adaptor ring is a simple ring made just to match the different diameter of the FD and EF lenses,it has no electrical connection,so your ap shows F00.you need to focus manually.you need to go near the subject to bring it into focus, beyond a certain distance you wont get any picture as the infinity object image is formed in front of the sensor,if there is a glass then that can be corrected. But i dont know how much it can help.As for the aperature it can be changed by changing the aperature ring on the lens manually.it will not show in your exif data .With no electronic feed back, your camera senses that there is no lens in front of its sensor. FD lenses are mechanical devises
