Default Kenko Extension Tubes

So my keno extension tube set finally got in after about 5 weeks of waiting (thats what you get for saving $80 on ebay)

So, I thought I'd share a quick before/after shot with all 68mm (12+20+36 stacked).

This is on my 100-400L @100mm f/5.6

Before

After

Don't know about you, but I think I can see a slight difference.

And yes, in both cases, that is the absolute closest it will focus.

If anyone wants test shots from it of any kind from either my 17-40L or 100-400L, let me know and I'll be happy to provide them.

Wow. That's a huge difference considering that extension tubes have less effect on longer focal length (I can't say the math off the top of my head). When I get my 105 Micro in a month or two, I'll definitely consider come extension tubes as well for it. 1:1 ratio+1.5 crop factor+plus extension tubes=very close focusing.

Congratulations on your new "toys"!!!

What focal length were these taken at? 100mm?

the 5D is full frame right? so no crop factor?

I just got my Kenko Extension tubes a couple yesterday as well. I did some test shots with them last night and while they aren't particularly artistic, I was impressed with them.

Course they aren't artistic. The just let the camera focus closer. They won't do anything new, they will just enable you to do more.

I think he meant the resulting shots are not particularly artistic. No problem with that while you are learning. All those ruler pictures I took where not anything special in themselves but were invaluable in getting the measure ( ) of my equipment.
