I just purchased one of this , it will be here in about 10 days , so... will give you a review if U still need. I asked a few days ago here
1200mm mirror lens

Got some answers but as I still new there are some concepts I still need to look up in the glossary , so I bought it and now waiting for it.
Will let you know as soon as I get it. Only thing I know for sure is that is heavy as a bad matrimony ...

So what I am reading from the replies in your thread is you'll need a tripod and Looooonnngggg shutter times to get enough light in for a decent picture.

I can't comment on the lens you're looking at, but if you plan to take astro images with it you will need a motorised mount as the stars move really quickly though the frame at high magnifications

This is what I managed through my (computerised) telescope with my dSLR, Jupiter and it's main moons

Here is one through my 500mm sigma with a 2x teleconverter attached (i.e. 1000mm) to give you some idea if what you'd get from a bigger lens.

This is a shot I took with my rebel xt, with a Sigma 600mm mirror lens at x1.6 would be 900mm. Used a tripod, cable shutter release, and with the mirror locked up.
