I love it! The kind folks at Don's Photo here in down let me try it out in store before buying it by tossing a Canon 40D with a 500mm lens on it to see how it worked with big glass and little glass and I have to say I was so impressed the money basically leaped out of my wallet and into the cash register.
I took er out for a walk this afternoon with my camera while leaving my pretty Canon strap at home and my lowepro bag behind and I was quite amused that my camera when resting at my side didn't flail itself around or any thing else scary that I would have imagined it doing, instead it sat still at my side while I wandered through the wooded trails by the river without any snags or bumps ready for me to grab my camera when I needed it. I'd like to also thank Chas Elliott for his review on the product in the first place which made me go looking for this beast of a strap in the first place ![]() R-Strap by BlackRapid - Camera Strap Review

Thanks Travis, that was really interesting! I like the idea although I don't like the idea of using my tripod mount since I often wear the camera with a slender pipe tripod dangling off it for low-light situations. For me, though, being slight of build, the included strap isn't as annoying. It does have me thinking I should investigate alternatives and see though. I wouldn't mind getting rid of the branding on my strap as I'm not crazy about advertising the value of my belongings.

Also thanks, Travis. That's Don's Photo as in Don's Photo? I'm really interested in this strap, but would definitely like to try it out before . . .

![]() Anyways, BlackRapid only lists Vistek as its sole Canadian retailer, so it gives me hope it'll travel farther west in Canada soon. Have any other Canucks seen this strap in-store?

I have two they are great. works like a charm. I have the connectr instead of the double strap since i dont always carry two cameras with me. I would recommend the straps to anyone that owns a dSLR. So much better than the straps that come with the camera.

Another opiton is the "Y-Strap" (Y Strap « The Figital Revolution). It mounts to one camera body lug instead of the tripod mount. If you question the strength of one lug, I sent an email to Nikon and was assured that it is plenty strong enough.
I carry a D300 with a Sigma 80-400 EX lens with ease. Cal Windham, ME |

Yeah seriously. The r-straps are awesome. I have my d200 with 70-200 f2.8 on one then my d700 with 24-70 f2.8 on the other. The double strap is better but I got two singles instead because of the fact that I dont always carry both cameras just during modeling shoots or events.
