Question Small studio kit

If I considered myself slightly better than "prosumer" and wanted to get into some studio lighting for a few hundred bucks would this be worth my time? Anything else I might need for a D90? I have an SB-600 but can't seem to get happy with it in an indoor studio product/portrait kind of setting.

Also, for portraits of 1-4 people will two 320W lights be enough or should I consider the 400W?

Thanks!

I've been looking at similar beginner setups, too, and am looking forward to what everybody has to say about them.

Default Wattage?

So is two 160W flashes with soft boxes enough for the mostly single-person portraits I want to do or should I go with the two 200W for about $110 more?

I was looking for a cheap package to get me started this look pretty good, I am not sure how to setup everything but the webpage looks professional and it has some instructions. I am thinking about buying and trying, I am going to check on shipping prices this afternoon.

Stick with the speedlites.
They're super portable and they're just as useful.
Pick up the strobist seminar DVD. It has a pretty good explanation of how to use them effectively. Also go read their lighting 101 and 102 sections on their blog. http://strobist.blogspot.com
