I use the Canon 24-70 L USM F/2.8 as my walk around lens.
I also have the Canon 100 USM F/2.8 macro lens. I haven't used this much as of late but hopefully soon. I really want to buy the Canon 70-200 L IS USM F/2.8 but the price is just a bit over my budget at the moment.

Mostly the nifty fifty - Canon 50mm f/1.8. In fact, I've just sold a 28-105 USM f/3.5-4.5 lens that from a practical point of view should have been a much more useful walkaround lens.
The number of 'keepers' with the 50mm was so much higher that the 28-105 had to go (to put the cash towards a Canon 70-200mm f/4L). The 50mm is light, fast and unobtrusive, and the image quality is great. (but if someone offered me a 24-105 L, I'd not complain)

Ditto. I've also got the EF 24-105 f/4L IS USM as my walkaround. But sometimes, if it's too big and heavy and conspicuous (or I just want the extra exercise of zooming with my feet), I slap the 50mm f/1.8 II on and use that instead.

18-55 kit lens for the most aprt stays on the camera.
Only time i change to the 70-300 is if i see something in particular i want to capture and the kit lens wont manage it. Noticed a lot of Canon L glass being used - is it that good?? |

I just got a new cannon 28-90 that I like alot, but I find myself using my 75-300 a lot also. I've never had good luck with sharpness on my 18-55 kit lens.
