Guys, I'm wondering if the slr camera can have some of its components removed and replaced with new ones?
Guys, I'm wondering if the slr camera can have some of its components removed and replaced with new ones?
Theoretically? yes. In practice it depends on what, and whether its worth it. Replacing a shutter mechanism is fairly standard for photojournalists, especially in sports, after several hundred thousand frames, but replacing bits on the motherboard or the sensor... not so much. It can be done, but it's so much work it's usually not worth it.
Ah ic.. thx..
So the it would be better to just replace the camera when, say, the mirror is ruined?
The mirror is part of the shutter mechanism, so that should be an easy enough fix. it's easily accessed, unlike the motherboard like I mentioned earlier: you'd have to basically take the entire thing apart
Your best bet is to send it to the manufacturer and see what they quote you
