Singly - a UV is mostly used as a lens protector. If you do use one make sure it's high quality. Make sure both are high quality really. Stacking them could cause vignetting and other problems.

+1 Those other problems often being great difficulty in unscrewing them off the lens if they are both on together.

OMG!! Did I just agree with something Bruce said???

And sorry OP for highjacking your thread with this trans-Tasman "exchange"!

No Probs Guys nice to see a bit of Cross Tasman banter....I'm sure you'll have plenty in common to get at me for being from the UK and one time resident of Dunedin but now settled in Perth WA!!!

BTW I would be using Hoya...so what happend to the ole Skylight 1a I used to recall was at one time considered an absolute must have?

Skylights have a pinkish color cast for the analog/film version of white balancing. But today we have white balance settings in camera, as well as the ability to shoot RAW and white balance however we please in post processing, so, like color filters for B&W shooting, they've fallen out of use.

Learn your software. You can even, to a limited extent, replace graduated ND filters with processing.

Now why would you want to leave good old Dunners for Perth? Yeah, yeah sunshine, hot summers days and all that but the place is full of Kiwis! Its like visiting Auckland but without the Westies And I bet you can't get a decent Haggis there for love nor money.

Have visited Perth a number of times, even considered living there at one time. Nice place, enjoyed the driving around. Are you in mining? Every Kiwi I know goes over there for that - including my husband!
