Default Where Do You Purchase Your Cameras and Accessories?

Where do you usually purchase your cameras and accessories?

Do you have a favourite brick and mortar store? If so, which one do you recommend?

Do you order your equipment online? If so, which online site(s) do you recommend?

(I hope this is the right place to put this ... on a cycling forum I'm part of, we have a "Positive Experiences with cycling-related businesses" thread where people can talk about good places around the world to get their cycling gear, and I didn't see anything like that here)

My favorite bricks and mortar store for buying camera equipment is Starbucks. I find stuff on Craigslist and meet the person at the coffee house for the transaction.

B&H, Adorama, MPEX, Amazon, Gadget Infinity, Paul C. Buff.

I've had excellent results from all of the above.

I suspect I am the odd one (Again). I always use the local camera store where I live. The last thing I ordered was over 40 years ago from Spiritone and that was the original "Strobist Kit". I am willing to pay a little more for the personal support for me and for the personal support they give to beginners in the hobby. I try to use an independent rather than a chain as they tend to be more inclined to real discussion rather than sales pitches.

My best learning experience in photography was sitting around a table in the back of a camera store with fellow photographers talking shop and discussion type critiques of images.

I mostly use B&H, but got my camera itself from Abe's of Maine.

We've got a nice camera shop in town I'd love to shop at, but being a college student I need to spend my money wisely and end up buying online to save money.

I've also gotten a couple used lenses off eBay. It can be riskier, but I haven't had any problems buying photography stuff so far.

Online - B&H, Adorama, Calumet, Amazon. Would also consider eBay.

B&M - Best Buy, local camera shop.

No problems with any of the above.
