My new studio set up came in today and I am soooo excited!!! I got the rack and a black background and a white one. Both are muslin as I like the textures in muslin more so then paper. It was a very cheap set up and will help me with my lighting and learning process.
So I unwrap the muslin and OMG is it a wrinkled mess!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to be ironing it for the next week ![]() I am washing it now on gentle cycle in my he washer. I have the spin cycle set to low to create less wrinkles. I am then going to put it in my he dryer and hit the anti wrinkle setting. I am hoping that will get some of the wrinkles out... I then can starch it and make it nice and crisp. My question is ... how do you store your backdrops to keep them from wrinkling?! I don't have a roll bar or anything I can roll it to. I don't want to have to do this every time I want to use it. What is the best wrinkle free system for these cloth backdrops?

For storage, I'd recommend rolling the fabric around a cardboard tube. Not too much weight and you can find the sizes you need if you look.
For fixing wrinkles, I'd recommend a hand steamer something like this one. (There are many different steamers out there, BTW, that's just the one I use at work.) You can steam after the background is hanging and it's quite a bit faster than trying to iron a large piece of cloth.

I see my buying some wrinkle free top sheets in the near future
![]() I think I can put the muslin on with the clips and a top sheet over it. The muslin will help it not be see thru. Starching this stuff SUCKS BTW ha ha ha
