Question Intel i5 and HD+ screen - good enough???

I am getting a Lenovo Thinkpad T520 laptop. Just within my budget I have the Intel Core i5-2520M and the 15.6" HD+ (1600 x 900) LED Backlit Anti-Glare screen (Graphics is NVIDIA NVS 4200M 1GB). Plus I have got an Kingston 8gb ram and a WD back 750gb / 7200 HD to put in it.

This in its self with be 75% better than what I have now for Editing my photos so I know it will be progress no matter what. Photography is my hobby and I am progressing fast. I take all my photos in Raw with my Nikon D300, and I am leaning to do a lot more new things besides the basic editing and I love it. I do hope to be able to take it to a more serious level and for it to evolve some day even into some part time work maybe. I do a lot of editing how ever personal enjoyment is mainly my goal but I am a bit of a perfectionist.

My question is to any one that can help me would it be worth waiting and saving another $400 for an Intel Core i7-2760QM Processor and a 15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) LED Backlit Anti-Glare Display, would it make that much difference? If so what difference?

Or is an Intel i5 and HD+ screen good enough for photo editing at my level?

Spec wise, the computer you listed is good, except the monitor. Having full HD for editing is absolutely a lot better than 1600X900, and worth waiting for.

Great thank you, so the FHD screen it is then. One more question I have read that the FHD screen is not good for every day computing is that true, this is all new to me and I have been doing lots of research but that can be more confusing that helpful some times.

I'm not sure where you heard this? There nothing wrong with high resolution monitors for every day computing. The only thing that takes getting used to is that it makes text smaller, so if you have bad eyes it'll be harder to read. This isn't a problem though because you can set your resolution lower if you want. Then bump it back for editing. Though it really isnt that bad. Otherwise there is nothing wrong with Fhd for everyday computing.
