Default Monitor Calibration Hardware/Software

I looked at the top two most rated and reviewed items on B&H and I'm considering on buying a X-Rite i1Display 2 Colorimeter Monitor Profile Solution EODIS2 or the Datacolor Spyder3Pro Display Calibration System from DC S3P100, but the Spyder is only for MAC and I yet could afford to get a mac so I have a PC... which Monitor Calibration hardware and software do you use and recommend highly?

271 reviews, with 4.5/5 star ratting.

Here's one of their worst reviews...

"I have used two Colorvision Spyders since about 2002, theywere OK but not great. Everything I read about the Eye-OneDisplay 2 lead me to believe that it was considerablybetter. Sorry to say that is not the case. More expensive, instructions are poorly written, but the bottom line is thecolor and contrast are not as good as my old Spyder."

I guess B&H still has the Display 2 version left cause that's already discontinued.

I just bought the Xrite i1 Display Pro (the replacement for the Display 2) and it's great. Also purchased from B&H! Whilst I do have a mac, I can't imagine that it wouldn't work as well on a pc. If the Display 2 is cheaper (it should be as it's discontinued), then I don't see a reason not to get that one.

The spyder 3 works on PC...click on the specs tab in your link.

I would get the spyder 3 over the older xrite for the money.... especially here Amazon.com: Datacolor DC S3P100 Spyder 3 Pro: Camera & Photo
