I've been shooting with a couple YN560's since the beginning of this year. Never had a problem with either of them, and they've survived several falls to the pavement. Other than the hassle of being manual (which isn't usually a problem, but in time crunching situations it can be a touch frustrating) they've been absolutely wonderful.
A couple days ago my wireless trigger set up, along with one of my YN560's, took a dive. As usual, the flash was fine. The trigger.. not so much. So, after doing a bit of research, I saw there was a new Yongnuo flash on the market - the YN565EX. I picked one up. Along with the Yongnuo ST-E2. I did some reading first, and read that several people had good luck with both products. Tonight I tried a standard 3 light set up (one high and in front, and one on each side of the subject). Everything was set to slave and did go off when I would take a picture, however- My YN560's I'm using for rim light are not showing up in the photo. They're close enough to the subject, they're high enough in their output, and their light isn't anywhere to be seen on the subject.. No curtain appears to be present in the photo, so I'm wondering if they're firing too soon, or too late? Has anyone else experienced this? I've tried shutter speeds ranging from 1/80th to 1/200th - so it shouldn't be shooting too fast for the camera. Sorry for the essay - just wanted to get as much detail out there as possible. Thanks for any and all assistance on this, and if I left out anything that needs to be mentioned, please let me know and I'll post it ASAP.
