Default Decent Photo printer

I'm sick of spending cash on sending stuff off to be printed, and since I only usually want one or two photos at any one time I either never print it, or if I do, it's expensive, and then I have to wait a week for it to be delivered.

I'd like a printer that has the following qualities:
- Prints A4, but preferably A3
- Very good colour quality
- Wireless printing
- Up to about $800
- Preferably compatable with iPhone printing (But really not important)
- A scanner would be nice, but isn't important.

Ideas and suggestions?

I don't really have a suggestion for a printer of what you looking for, I never had the urge for one. However I probably wouldn't go with an All-in-one (scanner/printer/copier). Usually you get either a good printer and a so-so scanner, or a good scanner and a crappy printer. I just don't like such compromises. But that's just my opinion.

Think I've decided on an Epson R3000.. The other options were the Epson R2880 or Canon 9500. The Epson won because it's not a Canon so won't have compatability problems with photos produced on my Nikon

No, seriously, I chose it because it can print wirelessly, which means I can have it placed out of the way in the basement, and it can use a paper roll, making way for printing Pano's, and onto photo card.

Ok, now got to wait for next month's pay cheque.

Good luck with the printer. Keep us informed as to how it works out.

I make very nice prints on my epson r2880 (though my model is like px5600 or something, silly japan naming)

Just be patient going through the setup - make sure you don't dual color manage.

I have been printing from my D7000 on a Canon Pixma 9000 Mark II up to 13X19 and the results have been awesome! I bought it new (without UPC because of rebates) for around $190. The prints look exactly like what my D7000 LCD shows. I am blown away by the quality considering the price of this printer! It even comes with PSE 8 (although I had to upgrade to PSE 10 in order to process RAW files).

I am far from an expert, but my eyes work perfectly and I love this printer!

You'll love your Epson. Currently I have the 1400 and am upgrading to the 3880 (depending on if my bid goes thru on ebay for a lens)
