Default A new flash: Yongnuo YN-560.

I have a Canon t2i, 18-55mm and 50mm f/1.8 lenses. I think the next thing I should get is a flash. I don't have a lot of money, but I think I found a pretty good flash for the price; a Yongnuo YN-560 - http://www.amazon.com/Yongnuo-YN-560.../dp/B004GZLFHM

I have a couple of questions about it.
My understanding is that I can't use it as an off camera flash unless I buy something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Yongnuo-Wirele...3571341&sr=1-3

If I ever get a nicer flash can I use this as a slave flash?

Also I believe this is a newer version (I can't find it for sale anywhere else online, so I don't know if it's real) - YN560II flash YN560 metal hot boots YN 560 | eBay

Is it worth paying an extra $20 for the Mark II?

Thanks for all of the help in advance!

Iv'e not been able to use one but i have heard they are great bang for buck and don't have the appearance of cheap flash. the only thing is I have heard there recycle time is pretty slow 3-4 seconds on full power, that could be from that particular users battereis though. and yes if you eventually buy a flash that has a built in master unit like the 580 exii then it will work as a slave.
