Sigma or Tamron (500mm)

Hi all would really appreciate some advice, I own a Canon 1000d and are still very much learning the art of photography, but I really enjoy the hobby and want to expand my horizons a little. The camera came with the typical kit lens and 18-55 IS Lens, and I also bought the 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS at the same time.

I really want a larger telephoto lens but money certainly is an issue and the Canon range really are out of my price range. I have been looking at the Tamron 200-500mm F5-6.3 SP DI and also the sigma 150-500mm. I completely understand these will not compare to the Canon range but would really appreciate views on anyone's experience with these lenses and which you would recommend

I'd get the Sigma 50-500 OS....I had one and did well with it. It's a slow lens, but they all are in that price range.

It is beter than the 150-500 but not faster (it does have image stabilization). I'd get either Sigma over the Tamron.
