I'm sure this is asked all the time but bare with me.
I have a Nikon D50. I had a kit lens (18-55) and a 55-200. Something went janky with the 18-55 and now I need a new lens since the 55-200 is so limiting when I want to do anything close up. Any suggestions on what to get? Keep in mind, I'm still learning the technical side of things, I tend to focus more on the end result than how I got there. (I know, bad me, I need to take a class but haven't had the time) |

Two options, if you're on a budget: replace with a another (used) 18-55 VR, or consider the AF-S 35mm f/1.8.

Yes, the first question is how much are you willing to spend?
