I have infrared negatives I want to scan. Will any negative scanner be able to handle these? Do I need special software to go with the scanner? I don't currently own a scanner for negatives but based on what I've read, the Canoscan 9000F will be fine for my ordinary negatives. That is the one I plan to get.
However, I can't find anything anywhere about scanning infrared negatives. I did a search for this on Google and all I came up with was endless articles about how scanners use infrared this or that but nothing about negatives for infrared photos. Some of the infrared negatives are real infrared film and some of them are Ilford SFX film, if that makes a difference. I hope I asked this in the right spot in the forum. I'm new. Thanks for any help. Or even the right search terms to help me on Google. |

Scanning a negative is scanning a negative: it shouldnt matter whether it's IR or regular black and white.

Simple when you think about it: IR film is just like black and white film if you shoot without an IR filter.
