How to sync speedlight and camera in wireless mode

I was wondering how to be able to sync my Nikon D3100 with my SB- 700 Speedlight? I know how to set up the speedlight but I'm not sure how to set my camera to activate in wireless mode?
Any help is much appreciated!

You can't. The D3100 flash as no commander mode.

D90 and up...

You can with wireless triggers, another speedlight in commander mode, but not with the camera natively.

Thank you but I have it working now. I found out you are able to use the flash from my Nikon camera as the commander and it's working fine.

Ahhh - SU4 mode or optical slave.... True enough, they did put that in the SB700. Didn't really think of that, as I don't use optical slave at all. It will not work in sunshine and anybody else with a flash will set off yours, but in a controlled environment it will get the job done for you.
