Bad Card or Camera Malfunction?

I've noticed that in the last couple of sessions I've shot the images are not writing to my card in consecutive order. There might be 20-30 in order, then maybe that many again from later in the shoot, then back to continuing from the previous numbers. Example: image numbers 6201,6202,6203...6225 then 6261,6262,6263...6275 then back to 6226 etc. The image numbers are correct for the actual image, but they are not in the right order on the card. Is this a prob with the card or the camera?

As I don't have a direct answer to your question, the easiest way to figure this out would be to try shooting on another card and see if the same issue occurs

Thought that myself, but it only seems to occur when I take lots of photos. I only get that opportunity occaisionally. I don't want to waste 100 shutter clicks for nothing. Just wondering if anyone has ever had this problem and knows which is malfunctioning.
