Default Mount DSLR on reversed tripod

Hey guys
I'm looking for a solution to mount my DSLR under my reversed tripod using the flash hot shoes mount.. 1/4"-20 Tripod Screw to Flash Hot Shoe Mount Adapter US | eBay found this in my search but wondering where i could get a larger nut to have a female for the tripods thread mount.

I'm open to any suggestion helping me to mount my DSLR (not reversed) but on my reversed tripod.
Thanks.

I don't think I would want to mount my camera by the hotshoe.... seems a little risky to me.

Personally, I would fashion a U bracket out of metal and hang it by the tripod mount and to the tripod head that way. You would just need a nut for the top (tripod head) and a screw for the bottom (tripod mount) I think that would be more secure and quite easy to fashion.

problem is finding the 1/4-20 nut long enough to act as a union between the two pieces. I don't know why you wouldn't mount the camera upside down rather than suspend it from the hot shoe. With a lens of any weight you may crack the top of your camera off. If I "had" to make it work, I would use a 1/4-20 standoff and trim the hot shoe dimensions with a dremel...

This might give you a better idea....

I would use my stroboframe camera flip and just remove the cold shoe. Then, I would put the threaded bolt of the tripod mount through the hole and use a bolt to secure it.

Then I could shoot portrait or landscape reverse mounted safely without damaging the camera.

Ok thanks both. I'll try the idea with the stroboframe.
Thanks

You can't do that...the pictures will come out upside down. Duh!
