Not sure what the real question is here....

Go ahead, buy those items if budget permits.

Disagree.

Get yourself a Nikon SB-700 and learn from that first.

He mentioned that budget was an issue. If $325 is in the budget, great. But if he's got $70 to work with, a cheap bounce flash with manual control and reflector can get him by in the mean time.

Dear TheMoons678, OsmosisStudios,

YN465 vs, YN467, YN560, which model will you get? Why? I found that most of the YN465 has plastic plate and not metal foot, and they must be 2009 version and may introduce problems with Nikon version?

Thanks.

Don't get the Sanyo 2 hour quick charger. That will kill your rechargeable batteries quicker. You do need to buy slow chargers so that you don't burn out the batteries in comparison to turbo or quick chargers.

In regards to flash, buy the most powerful your wallet can afford to avoid having to look for better ones in the near future when you realise you need more.

Buy that flash and for a while, you don't need anythign else. Learn how to bounce your flash and how to use fill flash. Those alone would make a huge difference with your flash use.

Also, need to consider how to use your flash off camera. Again, this is dependent on your flash and your camera.

Diffuser? Forget it. Unless you are planning to use your camera directly on subject, then you don't need it. Bounce is the key for now.

And then, read up on this - http://neilvn.com/tangents/2009/11/2...-foamie-thing/ - learn how to direct your light on your flash with the use of that very simple object. It works.

Go to youtube and start watching videos on flash photography. There are heaps of videos there you can learn from.
