Default Kiron 80-200mm lens on Olympus e-510

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, and hope all of you experts can help me figure something out. I just got a Kiron 80-200mm lens from my father-in-law (he bought this when my husband was little), and i'm wondering if an adapter is all I would need to use it with my Olympus e-510? If so, what kind of adapter and where do I get this sort of thing? Or is this something I will never be able to use with my DSLR?

Also, I believe this is a manual lens, and as I am fairly new to photography, how difficult would it be for myself to learn? Any suggestions of books/ websites that might explain how to use a manual lens?

Thanks in advance!!

Kiron was a 3rd party manuf of lenses like Sigma, Tokina, Tamron. The lens would have been made in a particular mount (nikon, canon, minolta, pentax, or) Do you know what mount the lens has?

Thanks for the reply :-)

I believe he had a Minolta... I definitely know it wasn't an olympus. Does that mean that there may not be an adapter for it?
