Default Wireless Radio Transmitter

Hey everybody, I'm looking at purchasing a wireless remote for my 450d. I currently have a wired one, and find that in some situations, it just isn't ideal. I'm not looking for an infrared one either.

The current radio transmitter I've been looking at is made by Aputure. However, after reading the reviews, I've decided against it. Everybody says that it's a great trigger, but that the batteries die within a few days.. Not ideal. I'll post a link to it below. So, if any of you use a wireless radio transmitter similar to this one, but without the energy consumption issue, I'd love to know what you're using. I'd prefer if it was atleast close to the same price area lol.
Amazon.com: "Aputure" Pro Coworker Wireless Remote, RF Radio Shutter Release for Canon EOS Digital Rebel t1i, t2i, t3, t3i, xt, xti, xs, xsi 300d, 350d, 400d, 450d, 500d, 550d, 600d, 1000d, 1100d, 60d, Fullly Compatible with Canon RS 60-E3: Camera &

Thanks in advance,
David

Cant help you with that remote but i have a Hahnel Giga T pro II, it has more features that the one you showed, im very happy with it and the battery has lasted for hours at a guess 20 - 30hrs so far over a few months, still going strong. There is a basic model in there range and is avalible for just about every camera brand and model.

Cheers Jo

Thanks for the response Jo.T,

After reading your post I started looking and found the cheaper model that you were talking about. After looking at the differences between the two, I think I'm going to go with the one you've got. I love all the features it has. So thanks for the help

If you have not purchased yet you might check out the one I have. Satechi WR-C100.

Amazon.com: Satechi WR-C100 Wireless Remote Control for Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT, XTi, XSi, XS, T1i, T2i & Canon Powershot G10, G11, G12 & Pentax K7 Digital SLR cameras fully compatible with Canon RS-60E3, PENTAX CS-205, CONTAX LA-50: Camera & Phot

It has been working very well for me. The receiver charges via USB and the small transmitter is battery. Holds a charge.

I use the same Yongnuo RF-602s that I use to remotely fire flashes. Never had an issue, and have been able to fire my shutter from about 700 yards away. These days, though, I'd probably say go for Cactus V5s.

Cyber3d, thanks for the link. Definitely seems like a solid remote.

Inkista, thanks for the link. You get a lot for the price, considering most of the other one's I've looked at that do remote fire flashes are over $100. Appreciate it I'm thinking this is probably going to be what I go with.

You're welcome. Just be aware that if you wanted some of the fancier shutter remote features (delay, multiple exposures, etc.) then these flash triggers aren't going to do the job. If you just want to have half-press and fire function, though, you should be ok.
