Unhappy Vitacon 0.5x wide angle and macro lens : any good?

Does anybody know how to get the best out of this lens? I recently bought one and the wide angle seems to work fine but am having trouble with the macro part of the lens. If you used this lens before and have moved on by now, please let me know why you decided to change. Any comments on pros or cons of this lens would be great.

Im going to assume these are attachments you screw onto the front of another lens. IN which case they're garbage. There's a reason the deal-deal costs hundreds.

I had these once. I unscrewed the "macro" ring off from the wide adapter and threw the rest of them straight into the trash. The "macro" ring is basically a crappy close up ring. Fun for a minute then off to the trash. Just crappy extras they throw in to make the package more appealing.
