The tour is all around the south island. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the 10-22 I've seen a bunch of great results and talked with some others and they highly recommended it. Thanks for the input from everyone. Anyone know any good travel camera packpacks? I have a manfrotto now but its more of a storage backpack for all my gear rather than walking around.

I'd definitely recommend an ultrawide (like the 10-22, not being a Canon person I can't personally give any advice on the actual lens), but you'll love the ultrawide for the vast landscapes down south. Last time I was down there I hardly took my 10-20mm off my camera.
