Hey everyone,
I recently took a tumble while I had my camera in my backpack. The camera seems in perfect condition but the filter on the front shattered on impact. The filter ring is jammed on to my 50 f/1.4 and I can remove it to replace it. Any advice on either removing it myself? Or do you know a place in NY that can do it at a reasonable price with a quick turnaround? I appreciate the advice! |

Have you tried one of those filter wrenches to take it off?

They're usually around $5 from most places.
Lens Filter Wrench Review filter wrench filter wrench - Adorama.com and assuming from your thread title that you're in NYC, both B&H and Adorama have retail locations there.

Often a rubber band around the filter, a rubber glove, or a household kitchen "jar opener" will be enough.
