Hey guys,
My parents gave me an "old" Franka Tripod that they had. It's in good condition and i've used it with a superzoom but yet to risk my new DSLR on it. Question is: Is this a good tripod? i've tryed looking up info on this item and can't find anything online..so i'm guessing they aren't made anymore. Can i trust my D7000 on it? Should i be looking to upgrade? For me it looks fine but strangely there's nothing online... Thanks for your time |

A good stability test - put your camera on the tripod with the longest lens you have, secure the tripod, tighten (but not over tighten) everything so that the camera is locked in position. Tap the top of the front end of the lens and see if it moves. If there's no movement, you've an excellent tripod.
If it falls, you can catch the camera and throw away the tripod - and if there's movement, it's useable, slight movement = not bad, lots of wobble in the lens = not very sturdy. |
