Post Nikon SLR Newbie. Pls help!

Hi, I just switch from a point and shoot camera to a Nikon D5000 and it came with a AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G and a AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm 1:4-5.6G. Right now, i'm just practicing with it but I have a hard time getting sharp images with both lens (even when i'm shooting outside i get some blur) i use the lowest shutter speed f5.6.
I practice shooting manual (for more control) and auto (even auto i get some blur) what am i doing wrong? any tips?

Welcome to DPS and photography.

My first suggestion is to learn your camera. Learn it so well you can make adjustments blindfolded and without removing your eye from the eye piece.
Secondly, go to the tutorial section on this site and read about the exposure triangle and progress to all the others.
Third, after reading the tutorial, practice the lesson. Keep the camera set to either apeture or shutter priority for now as you learn (the A or P on the dial). Pay attention to what the camera adjusts the other settings too and look at your results.

Nothing beats practice, reading the tutorials and apply what you learned. Best of luck to you.

Did you actually mean lowest SS and f/5.6? If so, that's the problem. You want a faster SS.
You may have to set your ISO higher.

Hi and welcome.
It could be your shutter speed giving you motion blur or camera shake. Post an example and include the exif data (iso fstop, shutter speed, focal length used)
