Default Flashes for Beginners on Sony Camera!!!

Dear all Professionals,

I'm currently using Sony DSLR model A330 which is for beginners. I've been using it for 1 year now & thinking of getting a flash. I'm basically into portrait & also shooting pics for events (both outdoors & indoors). However, I don't know which one i should get.

Would appreciate if anyone here could advise?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Michael

Will an amateur do?

Michael I have a Sony a350 and have just bought an external flash- the HVL-F43AM based on the fact that the HVL-F20AM was not strong enough and had no movement left or right and that the HVL-F58AM was too expensive. I'm very pleased with my trial shots so far.

If you can, you may find some used Minolta flashes that will provide flexibility & wireless control at a lower price.
