Default Is my lens broken?

I've just bought a used canon 50mm f/1.8 EF II.
I wanted to try it out, but when i tried at some high shutter-speeds, green lines came across the screen. I'v shot some video and some photos for you to see.

Both taken with 1/1250 f/3.5; one with green lines, and one without.
Photo Album - Imgur

Video:
Here the green lines are appearing:

And when shutterspeed is down to 1/80, there are no lines.

Is that normal behavior, i should i try to get it fixed?

They are probably TV synch lines.

Take a still photographs and see how it looks - preferably outdoors in reasonable light - Not a TV screen.

This DPS tute may help you understand what is happening..

Thank you for your answer but, the images and video are not pictures of a screen.

It may be an issue with the fluorescent lights indoors. They flicker, especially if they are getting old. If the shutter goes off at the wrong moment, when the light is momentarily dim, weird colors might result. Slower shutter speeds would even out the light.

I haven't been able to reproduce the errors outside.

yep, cycle rate under flouresents can be tricky. Slow the shutter to under 1/50th sec and see if it stops.

THIS.

Fluorescent lights will give you that kind of effect.
